Melody has
been an artist since she was a young girl. Having studied at both
Sonoma State University in California and Portland School of Art
in Maine, Melody owned a successful gallery/studio in San Angelo,
Texas where she taught classes and displayed her work. Her paintings
are now in public and private collections around the country.
After ten
years focusing mainly on raising her two beautiful children, Melody
has returned to the professional world as a painter of miniatures.
She lives and works in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts
while tending to a menagerie that includes a horse, a husband,
three cats, two kids, and a dog…all of whom have modeled
for her at one point or another. Melody’s newest work is
available exclusively on e-Bay through Art Cards, Editions and
Originals (ACEO). Above is an example of some recent work.
Artist's statement:
"When
I begin a painting of a particular animal (or landscape) I find
myself becoming slowly and completely enamored with God’s
perfect creation. With each stroke I am more in awe of this spirit
and throw myself into capturing what inspires me. Its a process
filled with heart and my hope is that I can convey at least some
of this feeling."
