Lar Shackelford is a former award winning Associated Press Videographer who works with hand created paintings on canvas; oil, acrylic, and mixed media, still photography; 35 mm, medium format film, digital cameras, and fine art prints of his original art.

Lar's background is in TV journalism. His love of animals is life long and he was instrumental in setting up the PET OF THE WEEK adoption program aired on his Network Affiliate TV News Broadcast. Lar did the creating and video taping the animal stories that helped adopt the homeless pets out to Texas families. It continues as a success today.

His animal art stems from different media such as hand created painted works to original photography like the Golden Retriever shown here. He also creates cat imagery including art of the Siamese.
