Kristin Bruce was born and raised in a small town called Jasper, in the middle of the Ozark Mountains of Northern Arkansas. Her mother was an incredibly talented artist and basket weaver so it was only natural that she too would learn to love the arts. Kristin began drawing and painting at a young age like most children do, but instead of it being a happy pass time, it became a passion that she just could not get enough of.
Kristin moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the age of eighteen and while she did attend The College of Santa Fe's studio art program for a year and a half she is primarily a self taught artist. Today she resides in Gilbert, Arizona, with her wonderful and encouraging husband, their young daughter, and two fantastic dogs.
Kristin enjoys many forms of artistic expression but her true love has always been painting. She prefers to work primarily in acrylics due to their versatility and quick dry time. In the past her main focus was on creating floral and abstract paintings, but over the last year she has developed quite the taste for animal and wildlife art as well. Kristin has always had a special spot in her heart for animals so it was only a matter of time before they appeared in her paintings. She is currently accepting commisions for pet portraits, as well as other various subject matter, in a multitude of unique styles. Her work can be viewed at her on-line gallery as well as on Ebay.
